Matthew Grant is a Sydney-based practitioner working across Human Design, Reiki, yoga, Vedic meditation, and Process-Oriented Psychotherapy. The work emerges from over a decade of sincere practice, formal training, and the kind of questioning that doesn't stop when the course ends.
Each modality is an entry point into the same territory — the relationship between consciousness and form, between what you think you are and what you actually are. The aim is not to fix you. It's to introduce you to the intelligence already present in your system.
"I was looking for a framework honest enough to hold what I had already experienced and humble enough to admit what it didn't know. What I kept finding instead was the same structure in different costumes."
Each modality is its own access point to coherence. They can be explored separately or together. The aim is always the same.
"The body tells the truth before the mind has time to construct a narrative around it."
Descriptions of how each modality works, what to expect, and who it tends to be most useful for.
Human Design synthesises the I Ching, Kabbalah, Vedic astrology, the chakra system, and quantum physics into a map of how you are specifically designed to operate — your energy type, decision-making strategy, authority, and the conditioning you've absorbed that doesn't belong to you. A reading with Matthew goes beyond chart description. It's a conversation about the mechanics of your life, the patterns you keep running, and what it actually looks like to live according to your own design.
Book a Reading ↓Reiki works with the body's own energy field — removing blockages, restoring flow, and creating the conditions for the system to rebalance itself. Sessions involve light touch or hands hovering above the body, working through the chakra system and wherever the energy wants to move. The experience varies from deep stillness to emotional release to specific physical sensations. Matthew is a Reiki Master with over a decade of hands-on practice.
Book Reiki ↓Process Work follows the intelligence of symptoms, dreams, body signals, and altered states. Rather than managing or suppressing what arises, it follows what the process is trying to do. Sessions might involve movement, voice, image work, or simply tracking what's happening in the body. Matthew studied with the Australian Process Work Institute and brings a somatic, non-pathologising approach to psychological work.
Book a Session ↓Matthew teaches across Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Yin traditions. He holds 400 hours of formal training and has been teaching in Sydney since 2018. Private sessions are tailored to where you are — injury, life transition, specific practice goals, or simply wanting a more intelligent relationship with your body. Retreats at Nimmitabel integrate yoga with the land, the fire, and the other practices.
Book Yoga ↓Vedic Meditation uses a personalised mantra given in initiation to allow the mind to settle naturally into its own stillness. Twenty minutes twice a day. The technique works without concentration or effort — the mantra is a vehicle, not a focus object. Matthew is initiated in the Maharishi tradition and guides students through initiation and the four-session learning process, with ongoing support.
Begin Initiation ↓Retreat offerings at Nimmitabel — a working farm in the Monaro, two hours south of Canberra — integrate yoga, meditation, Reiki, Human Design, and Process Work into a genuinely immersive container. The land does a significant amount of the work. Small groups only. Retreats can also be custom-designed for specific communities or creative collaborations.

Gatherings, workshops, and experimental containers over the years.
The work operates across three distinct, overlapping fields: writing as process, performance as embodied ritual, and healing as personal empowerment. Each deploys its own learned methods and modalities — and each is an expression of the same underlying inquiry.
The writing, the cosmology, the esoteric inquiry. Matthew writes under his own name on consciousness, perception, queerness and the architecture of inner life. The philosophical backbone that underlies everything at Arkana Studios.
The same person, different register. Performer, musician, aerialist, the one in the cowboy hat. The performance practice that understands the profane is the most reliable access point to the sacred. Eight years of live work in Sydney and Melbourne's most interesting rooms.
Writing and projects out now and approaching release — across fiction, long-form essay, and the Participatory Reality initiatory series.
Queer autofiction written through the SJC persona. A life collapses with comic precision — a breakup, a loss of direction, a spiritual awakening that feels worryingly like a crisis. Clubs, lovers, yoga studios, breakdowns and late-night carparks. Irreverent, embodied, and unexpectedly philosophical.
On the cosmos and the life you're already living. A philosophical essay tracing the perennial philosophy through modern physics, esoteric history, and the lived texture of spiritual experience — arguing that the same light runs through all of it, not because someone carried it from one place to another, but because it is the nature of the light.
Welcome to the Post New Age. A cosmology that accumulated like dust on a windowsill — through collapse, pattern, intuition, and the ridiculous theatre of one human life. The first book in the Participatory Reality series: a ten-book initiatory sequence on conscious self-initiation, the development of perception, and the architecture of inner life.
Occasional writing on practice, consciousness, and the body. No noise.
What actually shaped the thinking behind the work.
